Frequently Asked Questions
What is Assisted Living?
At Tall Oaks, four levels of assisted living care are available based on each resident’s unique needs. Designed for individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living, it can include everything from medication management and blood pressure checks to weekly housekeeping and laundry services—all offered on-site. The goal of assisted living is to help our residents achieve maximum independence while maintaining dignity and privacy.
What is Respite Care?
If you are in need of short-term assisted living care, Respite is the answer. It allows the resident to experience life in our community with a relaxing “staycation,” while providing his or her caregiver with the opportunity to travel or simply vacation at home.
My mother is forgetful and sometimes wanders. Does she need memory care?
Possibly. There are varying degrees and forms of dementia. We recommend scheduling an appointment with her physician. Our marketing team is available to help you through this process and to be your resource for memory care information and guidance. We can also help you prepare a list of questions for her doctor before your visit.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Yes, of course. Your apartment is your home and we encourage you to fill it with your favorite furniture, artwork, photos, and personal treasures.
Do I have to sign a lease?
Unlike CCRCs (Continuing Care Retirement Communities), Tall Oaks offers convenient month-to-month leases with no large buy-in or hidden fees. We also offer short-term respite stays that range from two weeks to several months.
